The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is part of the SL-Class of roadsters that Mercedes-Benz produced from 1988 to 2001. The 300 SL was initially powered by a 3-liter, 188-hp inline-six engine. The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL sold from the 1990 through 1993 model years is not to be confused with the legendary 300 SL gull-winged coupe introduced in 1957. When it was released, the 1992 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL cost an astounding $90,335, which is roughly $200,000 in today's dollars.
Replaced by the SL 280 and SL 320, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL exited with the 1993 model year. It featured a 3-liter inline-six engine that produces 228 hp and 201 pound-feet of torque. It was also configured as rear-wheel drive (RWD) and came standard with a five-speed manual transmission.
