Launched in 2015 for the US and Canada, the Mercedes-Benz Metris is a cargo or passenger van that was sold until the 2023 model year. In other markets, it is also known as the Mercedes-Benz Vito or Viano. Outside North America, it was introduced in 1996, with the second generation debuting in 2004. The third generation was launched in 2014, where it was known as the V-class. It had the least expensive starting price for any Mercedes-Benz model at the time of its inception in the US.
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz Metris was the model’s last release for North American markets. It was available either as a cargo or passenger van variant, with a long wheelbase version available for the cargo van. The 2023 Metris was powered by a 2.0-liter intercooled turbo I4 gasoline engine that produced 208 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed automatic was the sole transmission option. In terms of fuel economy, it was rated for 23 mpg highway, 19 mpg city, and 20 mpg combined.
